Sandy Seaman is a lampwork glass beadmaker, mom, wife, teacher and general
all around jack of all trades. She makes the beads, takes the photos, creates the
web site, packs and ships and so on.
Sandy has been making glass beads since 1997. She and her husband opened a
retail store (Earth Rhythms) at that time that was part world percussion drum
shop and part bead shop. They adopted two children from Korea at about the
same time and the bead shop portion of the store became too much to handle.
Before the store closed, however, they were selling a book by Cindy Jenkins
about making lampwork glass beads. Sandy had been searching for a creative
outlet, having spent some time hand weaving and stringing beads and when she
saw those bead photos, Sandy knew she had found her medium.
Sandy never tires of the mesmerizing process of melting glass and experimenting
with color. She is delighted to have found a medium that is so full of wonder and
so rich and complex that she feels she will never exhaust its creative possibilities.
Sandy's latest ventures have been in making boro glass marbles and fused glass
home decor. She loves learning something new!
